Well with no intrest in my hotside(until i cut it up tuesday) I decided to make some changes. I was contemplating going twins, but I came by a killer deal on the supra forums and decided to move on up!

Picked up a GTSH Ball bearing 76 on supra forums for cheap!

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

So I have made some good progress the last two days and ill get pics posted sometime today.

I Could have just bolted the 76 on went about business but the Borg Warner has a different downpipe flange so that would of needed changing as well. I also want to get the wastegate dump integrated into the downpipe. Under a load pulling a trailer i can hear the dump exhausting and it kind of annoys me. I wouldnt do this on a full effort vehicle and if this vehicle werent dedicated to towing for the most part I would be doing this as it hinders power recirculating the gate. I have plans for a big enclosed trailer this year and I just cant deal with all that noise when the Spoolbus is under boost.

I devised a plan to do both and in the process go back to a normal fan arrangement. I will be doing a "Taurus" fan in the factory shroud as well. Going around the front with the driver side hotpipe and making it a bit different. Maybe should have done it this way to begin with. Not ever having done a kit on a 4WD vehicle I overlooked it.

Just keep in mind I used what I had allready on the vehicle and had to piece together a lot of stuff so there are def more welds and work in this kit than it would take doing it from scratch with all new bends and such. It would also look better, although once its wrapped nobody will know the difference.

Anyway stay tuned and ILL get some pics up today.

Thanks tom!

Here is the cold side, Went with PMAS slot meter and used left over sticks of pipe I had from a supra build.

Turned out pretty decent for using scrap. I just moved the vortech bypass back by the turbo and i had to flip the 45 elbow on the turbo and clock the housing.

Below you can see the mounting for the turbo and the wastegate mount. Notice my scrap piece of square stock i used for the turbo mount to keep the pressure off the pipes and support the turbo, it was a little big but I couldnt find a piece smaller today:)

Here is where the drivers side hot pipe comes up passenger side by frame.

and the front where I have a v-band and the flexpipe.

and the drivers side. (told you it was ugly! I used scrap and leftovers)

I also have the downpipe done besides the wastegate integration. (didnt have any 2 inch 90deg bends for the dump to downpipe)

SO that is on its way from summit, only piece i had to buy for this other than the meter.

Ill get pics of the downpipe later today

Here is the downpipe.

In the image above you can see where I notched the frame. ITs a bit rough now but i plan on removing all the pipes, painting and wrapping everthing and then I will clean up the frame and box it out with some 1/4 inch stock. It will be pleny strong when I finish. I could of made two 90s back to back and not notched the frame but I think it turned out better this way and it left me plenty of room to service the trans and get starter on/off without removing the downpipe!

I am still working on the battery relocation. I wanted to locate it under the vehicle somewhere but there was just not enough real estate. I had to put it in the back. I bought some through firewall grommets for the battery cable and a sealed box. Ill get pics of that later today if I have time.

Oh and just to show you how well my air bags work and what the real purpose of this expy is :

I see an enclosed in my future for my car:

I saw you said something about supra forums? I have a '95 mr2 with a 3sgte that I'm working on, as well as a 3sge swap into a camry, nice to see a F.I. fan on here :)

Thanks, I am actually a little over the top. take a look at the mustang pic and look in the drivers side front bumper:) Has a GTSH 76 on it as well. :)

Take a look at the ride on the lift in the background of these pics. It belongs to a friend of mine. We are completing it as well.

here is his build thread. I did the fab work for the most part but he did all the elbow grease:). He is a wiring guru and very particular

THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS GUYS!

I got around to fabbing up my electric fan.

This is the way to do it for anyone interested. You just pick up a mustang or taurus, MKVIII etc and cut it to fit the factory shroud then make up some brackets.
The wiring piece is pretty simple as well. Just grab a sensor that grounds out at a preset temp and use that to trigger a tyco 70 amp relay. These fans are beast when wired properly, and in factory shroud they work really well...

You can also see how I moved the Power steering reservoir and mounted my intercooler tank for the air/water setup on the drivers side where the air box used to be.

Did some research and found out this a good upgrade for the water pump.

Navigator water pump

Picked up the navi pump from the local dealer. 89$ my cost. Tried one from advance but it didnt have the correct shrouded impeller so I sent it back.

Finally got around to getting this thing pulled in and finished up! Now its up to tunning.

I got all the kit moved, Installed a new radiator and condensor while I was at it. Had an issue with timing as well so I tore the front cover off to see what was going on. Truck would only allow me to run 7.5 Degrees under full load and I knew there was an issue. I found the drivers side timing chain guide broken causing the drivers side camshaft to advance itself a lot. Compression test showed it as 220 on the drivers side and 180 on passenger side cylinders. I had previously put an aftermarket timing chain and guide kit on it because mine was such high mileage. I replaced that piece of junk with a factory low mileage lightning setup.

Battery box turned out pretty good I thought.

Above is a look through the passenger wheelwell.

Once the tunning is ironed out I am planning on strapping it down and getting the final numbers and tune ironed out with my tuner. I will update when this happens.

The new fan setup and Waterpump work a little too well. I put in a 170 thermostat and the truck hasnt seen over 175 degrees on any of the datalogs yet. SO I might end up going back to a stock thermostat.

Can you design and fab me a twin turbo kit?!

I would love to see what 19 psi turbo boost would do on pump gas and dial up the boost at the track with race gas.

Yes I am dreaming.................

Thanks for the comments. Got a little information. Spent a little time on the rollers yesterday. Not perfect but we had an hour to dial it in. Made 365/500 on initial pulls 6 deg total timing. 14 lbs boost. Managed to get it to 430/600 on 10.5 degrees timing and same boost! Pretty happy with that on this particular mustang dyno its pretty stingy. Peak torque was at 3600 RPM!!!!!!

It makes boost starting at 2100 rpm and by 3000 its at 8 pounds. Pretty much a torque monster. I am really happy with it for what its going to be doing. I would expect it in the 500/700 range on a dynojet. Stock intake on the 5.4 makes for a real torque monster.

Its almost time for a new set of tires so stay tuned, I always like to get the best out of the old ones first:)
