battery terminals

anyone change original clamps that go on batterys posts.(terminal)

my truck barley started today again....1 terminal has white chit on it...not alot but enough i think to lose contact.touching it....car starts....lol

was thinking just cleaning real real good....instead of replacing with those big top post connectors and having to shave end of cables.

do they sell those original thin clamps for connecting to battery....gotta see.

....i dont mind the little stuff....hehe. couldve been worse

that is one of the first things i change when i get a new vehicle... personaly i use gold plated terminals because they dont corrode. i have heard of people having good luck with brass terminals also... the gold plated ones were $9 each and brass is around $4 each. good luck

+1 for gold and brass terminals... I changed mine last summer

so u guys took originals off....spliced wire..ect....and used reg. top post terminals but brass or gold...."k" ill take of the originals this weekend....had to move terminal again b4 going to work and 10 hrs later to come home. SUCS

I use those red and green felt corrosion inhibitors under my post connectors and then spray them with a top coat of battery terminal spray and I have never had corrosion on any terminal. Heavy corrosion only happens if you are leaking a bit of acid, if it's a serviceable batter check the water levels and add distilled water if needed, then wash the exterior of the battery with baking soda to neutralize the acid. Then install the pads and spray and all should be good.....that is assuming the battery is not going bad.

yea....gotta find those pads. i cleaned and brushed it good with steel brush. cleaned battery and cover.

didnt want to cut cables just yet. those terminals (original) are clean and in very good shape so....

i charged battery as well for a hour....lets c this week.:rockband:

batterys just over 2 yrs.....
