Hey guys,
Been lurking here for awhile. Got my new 04 and so far, very happy with the ride. As with most people, unhappy with the Brake Dust residue. I was aware of this issue prior to buying, but didn't know it was this bad! Anyway, called back to Koons Ford in Falls Church and talked to a service rep about it. He checked on the Service Bulletins and promptly called me back 15 minutes later! He said, "we are aware of this issues and will have the new pad kits in next week, would you like me to schedule you?" I said yes, but is there any charge to me? He replied "No sir, I'm gonna make Ford pay for it" he continued with "This problem has been identified by Ford and they have a fix for it. Your Expy is an 04 and should have gotten the newer shoes even though it was produced before Dec 18th 2003".
He did say that the service manager is warning all who take the new pads that they will wear on the rotors harder than the "dirty" pads. So bottom line, Koons Ford is doing the swap out at no charge to the individual. If your dealer is not making you happy, contact the next one and try there. Ford should make this right and so far, Koons Ford is!
