Brake lines going to ABS module

I got a 99 E.B. and will need to replace the brake lines. does anyone know if I can replace the line that goes between the master cylinder and ABS module ( looks like it has a stainless flex line) with a steel line instead? I was also told I have to take it to Ford to properly bleed the brakes after. Anyone know if this is true?
