Broke rear window defroster part '04 Expedition

I was cleaning the interior rear window, tapped the little black part that accepts the clip for the power wire on the top left side, and the whole thing popped off. Can this be glued back on and still work? Do I need 'special' glue? Does the whole window need to be replaced?

I used this stuff..don't know what I did wrong but the tab not making a good contact.

did the plastic tab break off or the metal tab it slides into?
