There is a spot on the passenger side, up near the fuse panel that has the code.
I don't remember exactly where, its been over 1o years since I had to find mine, but it is there somewhere.
Hope that at least gets you started in the right direction.

I recall a code sticker under one of the kick panels under the dashboard -- but it's been a looooooooog time.

Mine was on a sticker on the ECM under the dash on the drivers side on my 2000 Expy.

The keypad could just be dead, these trucks are getting pretty old. Without having a known working pad it's just guessing what has failed. I managed to find a near mint condition one to replace the dented one on the wife's Navigator a a local u pull it uard for about $15. Winter is on us but might be a good place to start. It is probably worth making sure it's plugged in as well. No telling whether someone has worked on that door before and maybe unplugged and forgot or damaged a connector in there unless you've owned it since new.

Try to press the buttons firmly and slow. Press a number to wake it up.

You can press the rear two buttons to lock the doors by just holding them down. If this does not work then your pad may be suspect.

^ and the keys should light up. These keypads are all alike other than some are vertical and some horizontal so any should work. eBay is awash with them.

Replacing the keypad is harder than it looks.

I simply...
1. removed plastic panel above feet in driver side of dash.
2. Move driver seat back....using a flashlight....with head near EBrake look up.
You'll see the outside wall and the fire wall under the dash.....on the fire wall there is a white or white colored box with a sticker on it I'm bold black letters. You'll see those are numbers ...
3. (I used my phone to get a photo I could zoom I'm on)
Once you have those numbers ....
4.
With keys in hand...close and lock door ....enter in those numbers from the sticker on the door key pad......


Those should be the door key pad numbers that work....

Mine did....

That's Easy-Peasy! I called a local dealership, and they had the unmitigated temerity to lie to my face and tell me that it would cost 139.00 to have them hook my '01 Expedition up to their computer to provide me with the code! Sumbitches!
