I've run about 5 or 6 tanks through the Expy now and I've noticed that every time I fill her up, the needle stops just left of the Full line on the gauge. Even when I ran it as dry as I possibly could (dash showed just 20 miles to empty) it only held about 26 gallons. According to my window sticker, I have a 33.5 gal tank.

So I've read somewhere that it could be the evap canister, just wondering if anyone has replaced this on their Expy, if that fixed the issue, and how expensive/hard was the job?

You can't always trust the computer to be exact. When mine shows 30 miles left, it will only put in 22-23 max, and mine is a 27 gallon tank. It could be your gauge calibration is just a tad off, and that reading is actually Full for your vehicle.

I dont trust the dash readout that much, but with 6~7 gallons still in the tank, I wouldn't think it would be so far off to only show 20 miles left. hmm, I guess the only way to know for sure is run the tank dry and then fill-er-up.

I usually fill up around 1/8th tank. It takes 26 or 27 gallons at that point. The computer is just a guess. I've started up the truck and it'll tell me I have 30 miles left. Then I get to the light on the corner and I'm down to 25. The light is about a 1/4 mile from my house.

I may try to fill it from 1/2 tank and see how many gallons it holds. Should be about 16.5 gallons. I figure I either have a bad evap canister, or the fuel gauge calibration is way off.
