When I bought my truck, it appeared to be stock. When I went to wilre in a amp I realized that the speakers were already wired to an aftermarket amp hidden under the storage box on the driver side rear cargo area. I wired the amp for the sub by running an additional power. While making some changes, I pulled the fuse for both amps and removed the wires from them. One time, the power wire for the old amp sparked when it hit a ground, after I pulled the fuse. I took my meter and checked and after pulling the fuse, I still have 12VDC, after 10 or so seconds, it slowely bleeds down to zero. Dose this mean there is a capacitor somewhere? I pulled the wire from the amp before checking it, so i know it wasn't from leftover power in the amp.

yeah ive sparked b4 and nvr went down to 0. theres probably a capacitor that drained the power. thats why i dont like them. theyre too complicated. itll be close to the amp. probably no more then 3 feet away from it.

honestly the cap can be anywhere from under the hood to hidden under the truck if the amp was that hidden

theres probably not a cap in the vehicle. its the caps inside the amp storing that little bit on current.
