My 07 EL was broken into last night and a spare car key with fob was taken. Is there anyway to change the locks or reprogram the keys to keep him from returning and stealing the truck?
If he has the key, he can get in and start the car even if I reprogram the fob ,Right?

Scumbags need to get a job and quit preying on us older folks. Get a can of bear spray and sit on your front porch cause he will no doubt come back to try to take your vehicle this time. If you don’t have bear spray, a gun would work just as well. Good luck Marlin!!

Tonight pull out your owners manual for programming fob. Reset it and program only your fob and the old one will no longer be able to disable the alarm. Arm the alarm and if he tries to get into the truck the horn will still sound whether he has a key or not upon entering as he needs a working fob to disable it.

I’d get a new key as well as your current key reprogrammed at the dealer and they will knock out the old one. It’s chip will be useless and the truck will not start for the thief.

I took care of the fob, its reprogrammed. I'll check on a new key tomorrow.
Now I worry about the old key being used to open the door manually and to start the car before I get the new keys. I think I will block the door key cylinder with an old broken key where they cant insert the key in the door lock.
I can get it out later if needed. I have never used that lock

In the mean time, you could disconnect the battery, pull a starter fuse, etc, etc if you are concerned about it being stolen.

Why did they get censored?

Good question Frank.
Bottom line though, Marlin was able to use the great advice of other members to disable his Expy and prevent her from being stolen.
Marlin, hopefully, no damage to your Expy as the frustrated thieves were thwarted by the precautions you set.

No just some expense. My bad altogether by forgetting to lock and turning off my Iphone.

Re key driver's door lock $35.00
One New Programmed key $45.00
Two home lock sets $135.00
Still need another programmed key but now that I have two I can program my own.$11.00.
Found some fobs on ebay 2 for $14.90.
Hope that's all!

Glad they failed again....I don’t think they will try again Marvin as they want an easy target....and you stopped that in its tracks. Hate you had to lose money but thats the way it always happens. Be safe Marvin.....

Unbelievable that these perps were so persistent. Great that you were able to keep your ride, though! Bonus, catching them on camera....

Few things came to mind watching the video's:
1) Could have saved a bundle with the Trunk Monkey!
2) Note on the steering wheel with a quote from "The Mechanic Movie" - By the time you finish reading this - you're dead.
3) Easy target with a long gun.

It is my wet dream to catch someone in the act of trying to steal or vandalize my car.
I had some issues years ago and made police reports EVERY time it happened.
I told them I know it is petty that you have to come out here for almost nothing but I wanted the paper trail. I'm sure it was kids or younger people. I had eggs, a bb gun once, marshmallows and hot chocolate powder mix on the hood.
I was harassed repeatedly for a long time...I needed this to be fact so if and when I ever snapped...I could at least show a history.
I told one of the cops I had a plan that would be good but keep me put of jail.
If I caught them in the act, I would be filming (old camcorder days) and I would hold them at gunpoint and make them strip naked and tie them to the roof of my conversion van and drive them to the police station.
He didn't seem to have an issue with it. I often get a negative attitude when I make comments to police in these situations.
If I don't make it funny or odd, I would simply shoot them or put their head through my own windshield, which is much worse.
I sat several nights parked on the street with video camera, pistol, and cell phone.
Nothing ever happened and I moved soon after.

My 2015 Expedition (I just got in June) got key'd pretty good on Saturday. Not sure where it happened, but I guess someone must not have liked the way I parked.

Funny thing was that I spent all day Saturday installing a DashCam. I don't have the model that does motion recording when the car is off, but I really wish I did now.

That’s a shame and sorry to hear. People are often just angry you have a nicer ride. No other drive, they see a Mercedes and say hey why not f up their day. People are screwed in the head.
