So instead of eventually buying a 2015 Expy with the EcoBoost should I get a 1980 Bronco with a carburetor? I guess besides having half the torque and having to redline on minor hills with my boat in tow it should last longer right? Hmm wait that doesn’t sound right. Is there some added complexity with turbos? Sure. But this isn’t 1980, Ford is using good rings and pistons. The engine is built for it and doesn’t have to blow a head gasket to tow a trailer.

No troll here. Some snowflakes ‘can’t handle the truth!”

Snowflake....Haha! Yep, Voted for Hillary, Drive a Prius and in my 20’s. You have me nailed.

The level of your idiocy is impressive.

Because I don’t accept your stuck in the mud drivel and actually answered things intelligently I must be young and stupid and looking for handouts. I provided facts and actual technical knowledge, not crap read on the internet. While in the past I jetted, adjusted, and synced twin Weber side draft carbs, I now choose to electronically tune, and mess with modern motors.

Which I actually own and turn wrenches on when I need to.

When people come to me and ask what they can do to help make their vehicle, run/perform better, or prevent issues down the line I help them. My default response is not, “I would have never bought that”, or “Ford ruined that vehicle with that motor”, or “you should have gotten a 20 year old under powered version.” That is what makes us different.

You started this, and you lost...accept it.

You brought a knife to a gun fight. Or in your case a plastic knife that is cracked.

Locowolf, no, I don’t think you’re 20. I think you’re 13.

What? Are you his girlfriend coming to the rescue?
You're adorably consistent. Never change, grumpy dude.

Most drivers of these are probably the opposite. Lots of idling, short trips, etc. That is how ours is used.

I added a JLT oil separator and after a few hundred miles emptied a tablespoon of watery oily goop out. Glad to keep that out of the 3.5L computer controlled twin turbo combustion process.

Some people just don't understand the concept of a can and how the PCV system works in a gas engine. Note I did not mention the Eco, DI or boosted....doesn't matter. If you want to keep crap out of the intake on ANY gas engine...can it!

They will only understand when they dump the nasty goopy tan colored liquid from the catch can. Until then ...dumb as a golf helmet.

I was considering a catch can, started reading this thread and appreciate the info from most of you but, I don't understand why Machitty is such a jerk. The point of this website is to help Expy owners by sharing practical knowledge to answer questions that will solve a problem. As far as I'm concerned Machitty should just get in his little yellow boat and motor into the sunset. Thanks to everyone else and 2 questions, Is there only a need for the catch can on the pass side? Why not on the other side too?

Perfect world is both sides. Kits are expensive. Passenger side can be argued based on firing orders sees the majority of crap.

Thanks Lokiwolf.
Question, can someone tell me how to remove the engine cover (2017) to access the hoses to connect a catch can.

The tech at my dealership uses and recommended the UPR. I got it this week and plan on installing this weekend while avoiding coronavirus.

You do have to unscrew the oil fill cap 1st. The harder part is lining it up right to snap it back on.

UPR? I don't see one on their website for the expedition.
