Complete failure on interstate...

With no prior warning on my 2003 exp while driving 65 on the interstate i lost everything but interior lights and power locks. Came to a rolling stop on the side of the interstate and the ignition doesn't even turn over. Trying to figure out where to start this morning as i had to have it towed back. Needed to manually switch it to neutral for it to get towed as well since the column was locked in park once i stopped and wouldn't change even when the tow truck guy put cables on the battery. I pulled a majority of the fuses but found nothing thus far. I've heard of a fuse box issue while searching thus far but any help would be appreciated.

Start by checking voltage at the battery an follow the main red cable and check voltage at all points. Then check each fuse for input and output voltage Some of the fuses will be hot at all times and some will be hot when in a start or run condition. Make all checks with a meter not just your eyes. I would also check the higer amp fuses first. Also check to see if any wires came loose .Make sure you have good connections on the battery and that the batter is fully charged.

Check the 30amp fuses F1.101 and F1.102 in the central junction box. What are you using to check the fuses?

Thank you for all of you that responded I appreciate the feedback even on a holiday weekend!

For anyone who may have this happen, It turned out to be a blown 40 amp (green) cartridge fuse (female cube shaped one vs the male 2 prong style) I'm not sure what functions it was for as my wiring diagram was off but it was the 40amp near the bottom of the panel (where the cube shaped ones start) that is closest to the passenger seat. It didn't look like a terrible failure, just a small crack in the connection. Something else to add to the emergency kit for next time!

If you post which fuse was bad I will see what all it controls You can also look in your owners manual for that information

Looking at the prints for your 03 there are only two 40 amp fuses,
F1.114 40 Rear window defrost relay
F1.116 40 Front blower motor relay
If either of those fuses blew, it could be possible that it cause a voltage drop that could have caused a relay to loose contact which would cause the shut down. But neither of those fuses being blown should have cause a no start condition
