I saw a newer f150 yesterday and it looked like the badges had been tinted. Looked sweet!

depends on your year

03-06 had no holes, i repaired a '06's hatch and had no holes in it.

you are correct...i debadged mine and its only double taped....messy...use a blow dryer and heat up the badge...you may be able to pull right off if you get it hot enough...i used fishing line and sawed it off the used the dryer to get the rest off...and whatever was left on the tailgate...goobegone took off...

I know on the f150 forums... badges are usually washed with acetone and then painted black to get the blacked out look.... its one more thing I wanna do when I paint my tan this summer

Love the thread! Got the dealership logo on my '04 still and it's not a sticker it's a badge. Sounds like the hair dryer and fishing line/dental floss will work. Will it work for rain/wind guards? I've only had my truck for a month and whoever put the passenger said guard on did a terrible job. It needs to come off so I can either re-do it or replace it. Irritates me. How could u screw something so simple up. Most people wouldn't notice it but I do!

the dealership logo & rain guards are both just on there with double sided tape. Just gently pull of, remove any remaining adhesive from tape, you'll be good to go

Thanks buddy. I'll take a little heat to it just for good measure. Supposed to be sunny and 45 on Thursday so I'll get them off then. Just irritates me that someone could screw up rain guards!

I saw a video on youtube where the guy Plasti Dipped the chrome grill and emblems on his Jetta. Looked simple enough. And he didn't even tape off the body exactly because the excess just peels off.

I stopped at a very good body shop and they're gonna charge me $25 to straighten out the wind guard deflector and remove the dealership logo. Not bad at all and saves me the time.
