Sick of the highway rocks and construction garbage destroying the front of my truck so I had it all professionally protected this week. If you’re in the Sarasota area, check out Sage Auto Studios.

Have realistic expectations on how well the paint film will protect things. It helps with the smaller stuff, but bigger rocks don't discriminate and will still puncture the film. At least that has been my experience thus far with the paint film on my Expy.

What brand did you have applied and what’s the warranty?

Not bad. You should be set for several years.

Did the installer buy the touch-up paint? How long are the warranties?

My wifes 2011 Sedan had the 3M film put on the entire front end the day we bought it. It now has 170,000 miles on it and the film still looks great and has very few if any perforations in it.... :).

My installer used Suntek Ultra with a 10 yr warranty. Typically the warranty only projects against cracking, yellowing, bubbling, of the film vs. damage from rocks.

I have Xpel ultimate and it’s great. I have 1 small chip after 60k miles. Rest of the hood and fenders are still factory fresh.
