So I just pulled a P0308, put a new COP, and plug, the plug looked like crap, so I am going to chnage them all. But this is my first time, I have worked on a lot of motors, but the 5.4 is the stupidest design I have ever seen. How the hell am I suposed to clean the spark plug holes out before I remove the plugs when they are just full of crap? I have never seen vertical holes for plugs. For the 8th cylinder, I used some surgical tubing taped on the end of a shop vac. It worked but I know it did not get as clean as it should. If I am repalcing the plugs anyway, should I just fill the holes with soapy water while the plug is still in and they shop-vac out the water/dirt before pullijng the plug? I do not like the idea of grit getting in the cylindrs and also do not want the moisture to get in either. I dont think compressed air will do enough.

Get yourself a portable air compressor & a blow nozzle & turn up pressure all the way & blow the crap & grime out of it. With enough air pressure it should clean everything out of the way. No need for shop vac or soapy water
