Doors lock and unlock by themselves

When I use the keyless entry to lock my 1998 Expedition, it start to lock and unlock rapidly. The interior and running board lights go on and off at the same time, and the vehicle will not stay locked. Any clue how to fix this?

Have you lubricated all of the door latches. I had the same problem & the door ajar light always stayed on. Until i WD 40'd all of the latches now no more popping doorlocks & no door ajar light.

Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem. Today it did it so much that the battery died. Headed out of town this weekend, so I could really use a solution.
