I just purchased and am waiting for delivery of a new Edge CS programmer for my 2000 Expo Police Package 5.4...does anyone have one of these and if so can tell your thoughts on how well it works?

the greatest toy I bought for my expy... I love my CS... I have mine set on level 2 and shift pressure is up 10%... others have gone with 15%.. but I love it and the fact that I can monitor up to 8 things at once...

What does this programmer do exactly and how is it installed?

most power. firmer shifts. change the rev limiter, change the governor speed. mines set 210 mph. like im ever gonna hit that. haha its mainly for more power and better shifts. you take it all out of the box. plug it in to your obdII port. plug the other end of the wire to the controller. answer a few basic questions. press lvl1 lvl2 or lvl3. i did 3 once. dont wanna pay for 91oct though. but lvl2 is what we mostly use. cause lvl1 is just firmer shifts. then you can keep an eye out on vidals. its kinda fun to watch mpg. go from 11 cruising to 4 when you floor it. haha

That doesn't sound too bad. What does lvl 3 do? How much is this magic box? No splicing wires?

mpg with me idk. im having other issues right now. but for $400 that isnt too bad. thats what i paid for mine off NC expy. nuts on the other hand STOLE his. he talked to a rep at a jamboree and got his dirt cheap! and lvl 3 adds more power and requires 91+oct. so its not worth it for mpg. haha but i liked it. i had better power threw the mountains. but im gonna keep mine at lvl2 for now. i like it.

I got a little better mpg.... think around 1.5 to 2... but with the better shift points it makes turning the 37s a lot easier... yeah me and Canadianexpy got ours 2 years ago in bloomsburg pa jamboree.... the rep was able to sell them below cost and some other discounts.... so with tax I paid 350$ and got a couple shirts and hats with it too... but level 2 and some shift firmness increase it makes a world of difference in the response of the expy

99+ you can... pre 99 needs a new gear placed in the speedo wire.... but 99+ is controlled electronically so you can... mine now reads same as my GPS

as long as your around stock tire size your speedo wont change much. and i mean off by .01mph when your tires are that off. even though i cant change my speedo it still asks me if what my tires size and gear ratio is.

Does the edge flash or program the computer or do you have to leave it plugged in for the programming to work?

Just curious. I have the SCT which programs the computer and then it is removed.

you don't have to leave the edge plugged in... but with it in you get the real time monitoring
