I have noticed in the cooler mornings that when I start the truck I have what sounds like some type of exhaust leak on the right side..but goes away after a few seconds of running...my question and concern is..could this be a spark plug with its famous thread issue?

I don't think valve train...I have heard lifter, bent push-rods, etc...even timing chain slap...I had plugs done at 78k and now have 85k and three trips from Michigan to Tennessee...engine runs like a watch and you could balance a glass of water on the wing nut....if it had one..lol..I know with expansion and contraction with heat and cold...and how fast it goes away..

look threw the inner fender well. see if the manifold is cracked. if it is take it in and get it done. cause even though my pig was a cali truck most of the bolts had to be drilled and re tamped. so just a thought.

Look at the bolts for the exhaust manifold. I bet you will find 1 or 2 bolts broken off (heads are missing), which is leading to your exhaust leak. Common issue with our trucks. I solved mine by replacing all the bolts with some capscrews. Makes taking the manifolds off much easier.
