I was driving through Utah on my way to making my move to a small town in Colorado. It had been hot all day but it suddenly started to pour rain. About 5 minutes later I see a car in the ditch to my right and a guy flagging me down. I pulled off and he told me that he had hydroplaned off the road and although his Pontiac was okay, he was stuck in the mud. All I heard was mud and tow rope so I couldn't have been happier to help out. Here are some pictures

Nicely done sir. I pull people out of snow banks and such quite often in the winter. Can't drive by with tow straps and 4x4 and sleep well at night without atleast offering a hand.

Couldn't agree more. The only other vehicles on the highway were semis and compact trucks so he could have been there for a while

I have passed many cars in the ditch and still have not bought a tow rope/chains. I ought to grab some. Mine as well utilize the v-8 4x4. What weight rating is decent for tow straps?

Not bad at all. You can never have too much strength. We travel up north to michigan for a winter SAE Baja race and last time we drove we got our fully loaded turbo diesel largest size you can get with out a CDL Penske truck with the hydraulic lift gate stuck in the snow. I didnt have my expy but next time i will and i will be prepared and just for the record, a ford pulled the penske out.
