i like the looks of the expy over the years and if the '15 navigator is any indication i'm sure i'll love the '15 expedition.

keep it looking like the f-150, in fact i would like if they went back to being the same truck from the doors forward as its a big body on frame truck based SUV it should show.

I do love the size of the Expedition its a good middle size, easy to park and drives very car like. of course i compare that to my Excursion i also daily drive and thats why i say it feels kind of small in some ways, the new EL would be a better comparison.

Yes I know it's going to be to difficult to explain without showing it. Im going to attempt to make my design then maybe try and talk to Ford directly about it.

It wouldn't be that much narrower. After rethinking and playing around with the modeler, I may only need to take off 1"-2" from each side. Most people probably wouldn't even notice.

The truck would still be just as functional, just with a few less cubic feet. Personally I like both form and function. If you look at the body and focus on it's main features, it hasn't really changed much at all since the original. Again like you said polaris there isnt much room to design without sacrificing space.

We'll see if I can come up with something and what people think of it.

Does the third gen yukon/tahoe not lay flat? The second gens lay flat. Or are you talking about the power fold?

That's another thing I admire about GM. They totally changed their design for their second gen tahoe/yukon and went with a more unconventional look.

I was looking at 04 models for both and the expedition only had the fold flat AND power fold

So I think I realised why they haven't really changed the overall design. Ford probably doesn't want to spend the extra money/time. Just roughly gauging off the forum sites for both the F150 and expedition, the F150 site has about 10-20x the posts per day which means considerably more people own them. That's why the F150 has more varieties than the expedition. The budget could be roughly 10-20x higher. I'm not taking into account the other vehicles they make either and that's another factor.

They sell as many f150's in a month as expeditions in a year

Hehe it wont be. After reconsideration I want to just post some designs here and see what people think of them and go from there.
