F struts leaking

Started finding spots in garage , looks like the F struts have started to leak . anyone else seeing there's leaking ????

Called dealer made appointment for them to just look at the leak & take pictures Then they have to contact ford for a OK to order parts . Bring it back in for replacement if ford gives the OK .

happened with me for three times in just 7K Miles, replace by ford dealer under warranty but its not a good solution.
one time its caused to me a bad steering control, it was too dangerous.
Kindly if there is any replacement for the standard one from ford??

Not true...just replaced both rears last week. Off warranty...2k job. I have a Platinum.

I was curious if anyone has had issues with the CCD suspension. I hadn't found many threads about repair/maintenance for CCD.

Well thats pretty acceptable to me. I expect struts at 50-75K on every vehicle I own. They are a wear item and wear out just like tires and brakes. Those poor seals can only take so many strokes until they leak their oil out.

interesting, I never replaced one on my previous i'd say 5 vehicles unless I was lifting them and needed longer struts/shocks. I agree they are wearable, but a highway rig? I used to beat the heck out of mine on logging/national forest access trails.

IDK, I think its a bit premature to be honest. I don't tow (don't have the HD tow) and never go off road. IMO, I was expecting to get maybe another 40,000 kms before they needed attention. I have had many vehicles in my life and many that had far more miles on the odo and this is probably the earliest I've ever changed shocks. *shrug*

No wonder ford is in such serious warranty cost issues (those with extended warranties at least). I realize we all have different opinions but struts on a daily driver? Crap, my parents have a 2002 dodge dakota that I helped them buy, it hasn't had struts or shocks done yet and it's at about 120K miles, and still tows there camper a few times a year no issues (it also has the 5.9L which I love that engine). @Gumby - feel for ya, $2K is nuts, even if it's CAD. I've installed long arm suspensions on previous vehicles for about that price.

It probably rides much worse now. If you only did the rears, the rears are probably working properly and the fronts are rearing their ugly heads on every harsh bump and its far more noticeable. Really dumb that they only did rears and most likely charged you for an alignment and once you do the fronts, you will need an alignment all over again. Not efficient.....

I put shocks in my pickup at 20,000 miles. The seals were all blown. It plows snow and drags my tractor around, so its to be expected, but shocks just aren't made to last. I put Fox Shocks in it, so they should do better.
