Looking for the most common causes/remedies of the following issues:

1-Shudder/vibration when shifting from 3rd to 4th gear and 4th to overdrive. Doesn't do it every time, but enough to concern me to fix it. I did put one bottle of lubegard in it, but I didn't notice a difference. My son was riding in the back today and said it felt more like it was vibrating under the rear seats. Could something in the rear end cause this condition?

2-The passengers heated seat isn't working. No light when I push the button.

3-Sometimes the door locks randomly don't want to unlock, and it's randomly different doors at different times.

4-ABS pump suddenly came on out of the blue the other afternoon so I had to pull the fuse on it to shut it off.

1- might be your limited slip if you have it, may need new gear lube and friction modifier...

3- door lock actuator.... my rear door has that problem

Mine had the same shudder issue for years before it became my truck. After lots of research I believe it to be a torque converter lock up issue. Completely intermittent. I drove mine from south florida to upstate ny York and it hasn't really acted up since. I've heard of a Motorcraft friction modifier that is supposed to fix this but I have not tried it yet.

I don't have the heated seats in mine it I would check fuses first. Get the truck scanned and see if there are any ABS codes in there, (plug the fuse back in first) and that should give you an idea of where to look.

Good luck and keep us updated.

Took care of the tranny shudder by adding a second bottle of lubegard. Shifts perfectly now. Hoping to go to a local junkyard soon and get a replacement ABS module. Still looking for info on the other 2 issues. About the door locks, do they just get weak over time and need replacing, or do they have grease on them somewhere that gets hard maybe?

door lock solenoid/actuators are a high-fail item. not hard to replace, but takes a little time taking the door apart and not breaking those little plastic keeper(s). have also noticed their quirkiness depending on temp.

I've been trying to research more about the ABS module, and was about to go to a local junk yard and get one, BUT I found one person that says when they did that, they had to take it to a ford dealer to be re-programmed. Any truth to this?
