These are the before pictures. It needs upper/ lower ball joints and minor exhaust work to pass MD inspection. The parts for the balls joints cost $450 at the dealer, so I think I'm gonna go with the deluxe Strutmaster kit for a total suspension over haul. As far as the exhaust, I'm thinking of going with the Magnaflow stainless with the lifetime warranty. Any suggestions before I take the plunge?

as for magnaflow, i really dont have any opinions. i am running flowmaster on my expy, as i did with my 98. as for suspension, is this 2wd? if so, you could just get a 3" body lift to fit a little bit bigger tire and do the suspension as well.

It's 4 wheel drive. I'm not gonna lift it cause I have small children that are having a hard time getting in and out of in now. The only reason I'm thinking of going with Magnaflow is because of the lifetime warranty vs. 3/ 10yrs with the Flowmaster.

little children or short wife lift it anyways, I did...lol just kidding ... but if your going to change ball joints you can get a better deal with non ford parts but if thats an installed price I would say not too bad

I wish! It only needs the lower ball joints replaced to pass, but they said that the upper will need replacing soon as well. They quoted me $600 total, just for the lower, which equals $100 parts plus $500 labor. I figure if I get the kit, I can do the front myself with the truck on jack stands.

autozone/advance has a decent sell on ball joints for expeditions, for the sake of the kids leave it at stock height,my honest opinion i think expos look way better lowered.as far as exhaust goes,is Gibson an option?? how many miles are on it??
