I have a question for those of you with these. Are they worth the money? $400+ seems a little steep. Are the performance gains significant (stock so far)? Are the fuel savings worth it to be able to pay its self off over a certain amount of time?

I picked up a couple mpg's. The biggest difference is in the way that the trans behaves. There are no more "soccer mom" slow shifts, everything is much snappier. It makes the truck much nicer to drive, but I really don't think that I'll ever pay off the edge with my savings in fuel. I may however pay it off by not having to rebuild the trans. Those slow sloppy shifts that the truck does stock, create a lot of slipping. Slipping creates heat, and heat kills transmissions.

So even though you may not save enough on fuel to pay for it, it's still worthwhile, especially if you are an information freak who appreciates the extra gauges that it can display.

you can always buy off someone...but that'll be the only way you'll get it cheap...brand new is the cost...thats the price for ALL programmers...unless someone sells you theres...even on ebay theyre over $300...so you might save $25-$40 dollars...so if you see someone selling one for $200-$250 you better grab it...

damn forgot about checking update status..lol... but for the edge well worth it for the performance gains... and being able to monitor a lot is also useful... but as for MPG gains... a little but gonna take a long time to pay off the unit... but if you can make it to a big jamboree or show that has an edge rep usually you can get awesome deals
