Ford 6R80 6 Speed Transmission Fluid and Filter Change

I am going to do this in the next few days, also due to the electrical connector leaking. Thanks guys for the info.

I'm not 100 percent sure on the 6 speed, but on my 2000 expedition 4 r100 4 speed the dealer said mercon v. My owners book and other things I read said regular mercon. I didn't want both fluids floating together so I paid dealer to flush all fluid and fill with mercon v. I had 70k on SUV at time. The trans works great, and when my next service is due, about 20k from now, I know it's all mercon v. That's what I did, hope the same works for your application, check eith a few more dealers, as well as trans shops, see what they have to say. Good luck, Moose!

Just once it would be nice if the dealer and manufacturer were on the same page. So what fluid are you going to use?
