Take a look on the photo.Loki knows what's what we are talking about. Hell, I asked the original question.
I was just out in the truck - it's 69 here today. When connected to CarPlay the phone buttons on the steering wheel do not hang up the phone you have to either use the phone itself or push the button on the screen. I just tried it multiple times.I did. My screen does the same thing. But I am unable to hang up the phone from the steering wheel controls now. Others have said they still have that ability.
Loki, can you also validate that you are able to hang up the phone (iPhone) while connected via USB with the steering wheel controls?Incorrect. Steering wheel controls work with CarPlay and Android Auto.
It's possible I was testing it with my daughter and as I'm telling her not to hangup until I hangup, she hung up so I had to call her back. Then she let it go to vm and I couldn't hang up and then I called her back and tried to hang up with the wheel buttons but I couldn't hang up. but I could with the button on the main screen.I'm wondering if I and the wife were crazy and we just thought we were hanging up the phone.... When in fact it was the other person
I also found out that Waze still will not play on the main screen and as far as I know I have the latest versions of Sync3 and Waze.

Okay I'll keep an eye out for the update. Maybe @LokiWolf has a contact that can get it.![]()
Andy, back around CES Ford announced this will be possible in the ‘coming weeks’. But still no dice. It will require Sync3 v3.xx which has not been officially released to my knowledge. Hopefully very soon. For now I believe v2.3 is the current version available.
Okay thanks for the Info. I wonder if Ford will ever make 3.0 available to all of us.I am running 3.0 (build 276). It has a few glitches, and is a prerelease. I am not aware of any units shipping with 3.0. Looked at a 2018 the other day, and it had 2.3.
So back to the running board retract delay, I could be wrong, but my research is suggesting that since these are AMP boards, the AMP controller dictates the retract delay not our trucks BCM. You can actually purchase aftermarket AMP controllers to add I think a 4 second delay to them. Here’s a link. Someone can do more research on this as I’m happy with my retract timing, but I thought I’d at least throw in this data point:

It didn't look like those were compatible with the Expedition. Although with the manual switch those that want to drive around with their running boards deployed, that could do that with this control. So back to the running board retract delay, I could be wrong, but my research is suggesting that since these are AMP boards, the AMP controller dictates the retract delay not our trucks BCM.
