1997 Ford Expedition
Miles: 165,000
$2,200

Vehicle runs good with 5.4 but needs a tune up,exhaust manifold gasket and bearing on idler pulley. Has a slight miss in it when driving and squeal at start up. I would fix this up and mark up the price, but it is to cold and I have no ambition to do so right now. Still runs and drives good. I got another vehicle so I don't need this one. It just sits. 4 wheel drive works great. Transmission shifts great. Tires are in good condition. New brakes and ball joints on front end. No check engine light on. Engine was rebuilt around 75k miles ago according to previous owener. Engine looks clean. Please text or call for more info. Text preferred.

Need to know the engine. Personally I would look for the 5.4L with the 3.73's (axle code H6). Rest can feel kind of sluggish. Otherwise I like the 97-98 models because of the hella sturdy bumpers on the front. I have personal experience with just how sturdy they are... Cloth interior so that would be nice if you live in winter areas, as well as summer months (I hate cold leather as well as hot haha). Never been a fan of the stock 17's but you can always replace those. Ball joints being done is a big thing, I would also inquire about front wheel hubs. If those haven't been taken care of, expect to need to do so fairly soon. Not a hard job, if you can do your own brakes, you can change the hubs. Each unit is about $100. Dont be fooled by the manifold gasket though, it is more than likely broken studs. We just took off a manifold on my mom's 2000 and that was no easy task. Ended up having to pay a shop anyways just to remove the last two studs. I would definitely check them and make sure there are not too many that have been broken off.

ya me and my father were talking about offering them $2000 for the Expy, the biggest thing I dont like about it is the color which can be changed in the future but for all the expy's listed this is the only one in my price range thats worth buying.

I'm with alaskanexpy but I'd offer 1500, you can always go up a little if he counters it, you can't really go down after that.

I know when I was selling my crown vic I was asking 2500 but I really wanted around 1500, I ended up taking 1350. I was happy and he thought he really got over on me lol.

We paid 1800 for my mom's 2000 about two months ago. 180k with the 4.6L

All depends how badly the seller wants it gone obviously.

I'm going to call on it tomorrow so we will how it goes, I need a 4wd to stay on my search and rescue team so if this guy wont go down in price i'll probably have to look into Explorers unless another Expy comes along in the next month around this price.

low low lowball. People take offense to it, but its not like he knows you. Just then send a new email from a different address, or call again.

Point being if you want to do any conversion work to actually get it to Moab, thats a lot of $$$, I can tell you first hand about that, lol. Try to save as much as you can on the initial purchase so you have more to spend on the specifics.

Not a bad looking truck.
But with the work it needs.
$1800 at the most.
And like the guys said you will a little have more to play with after purchase.
Good luck

So I called on it today and he sold it today :( just my luck :( :banghead:

A little surprised to hear that.. These are a dime a dozen around here and I've seen the same ones on Craigslist locally since before summer still for sale.

I would hold out for a 99 in eddie bauer trim unless you really hate leather.
