Hello all,

I have an 02 XLT and I just picked it up last week!! There is this annoying shimmy when I apply the brake, expecially after exiting the freeway. The brakes are okay, (I think)! and the alignment is dead on. The only other thing I can think of is that the tires are out of balance. I can't think of anything else that could be wrong. Thanks for any
help!!

check tire pressure, ball joints, tie rod ends, rotors, ETC.....

tire pressure and rotors would be most likely..............

it sounds like the rotors need turning, i was going through pads like it was the cool thing to do. and i had the shimmy, pulsating felt all the way up to the steering wheel. then a shop recommended after changing my pads the rotor should be turned too. the outside of the rotor may look smooth but its from the inner side of the rotor thats the culprit.

slammed_ex thanks for the advice. The problem you had sounds exactly like mine. I checked the outside of the rotors and they are smooth, but the inside is probably jacked.. going to check them out this weekend.
