I'm not getting power to just the rear passenger turn signal & hazard socket. I first tired a new bulb & then tested with meter. I also replaced the multi switch in the steering column - and that also didn't help. Last month I had noticed a loose (pink & Black) wire under my ignition switch -- but honestly I think the turn signal was still working fine after I found that loose wire. Some background info -- my Father bought this new -- never did any work on it -- nor added any after market alarms etc -- but I have only had it this since Feb -- it is a 2002 Expedition with 5.4L 180,000

Get the wiring diagrams and trace the output from the mfs back towards the tail light. At some point it will drop to "0". The break will be prior to that point.

Thanks -- could it be anything else besides the wiring? It is only the one rear side -- also is there any place I can get the wiring diagram online?

It is odd this happened out of the blue. I am thinking about running a test wire from the loose wire by ignition switch and testing the rear hazard & turn signal socket -- testing /checking for continuity -- perhaps it is just that wire...

Wow thanks -- I am not really very good at this -- so any advice would be great -- is this a common problem?

I checked the loose wire and it has power -- I still have no idea what it is. There is not any continuity between it and the rear flasher/turn signal socket that is not working

try to see how many pins are on the connector the color of the wires and what does it connect to looks like 8 wires to me but not sure

that bk/pk or pk/bl may be for the rear wipers

Do your rear wipers work?

Yes the rear wipers work -- and that loose wire (bk/pk or pk/bl) has power even without key being in place. Also that 8 wire connector is right under the ignition key switch seems to only have 7 wires -- this picture might help -- keep in mind only the bottom cover is removed. As funny as it is -- I don't think that wire has anything to door with my sudden loss of power to the rear turn signal -- I think it might pre-date the signal socket failure.

Ok the rear wiper works Qestion does the rear washer and delay function work\

C258 is the connector pin layout

82-02 is the rear wiper see the bk/pk wire at the bottom of the wash delay circuit

sorry for any delay Have my head in the engine changing plugs on a 5.4

This loose PK/BK wire doesn't go to the multifunction switch (c258 or the other connector) -- the multifunction switch is on the left side -- the loose wire is under right side/passenger side of the steering column -- right under the ignition switch -- and it does seem to be out of that straight 8 connector (see picture below)-- perhaps the 8 wire connector heads towards airbag & horn -- horn cruise control all work still.

Look at print C258 locate pin 5 and pin 9 turn key to on and check to operate turn signals see if you have voltage on pin 5 to ground and then pin 9 to ground

Sure will -- but since I have flashers and turn signals all places but passenger rear -- wouldn't it mean I must have power there?

the signal for left front is on pin 3, right front is pin 2

right rear is pin 5 and left rear is pin 9

Look at print 90-1 and 90-2

A=pin 9, B=pin 5, C=pin2 and E=pin3

Thanks I will check that -- I am parked on the street --I live in Hoboken so I will head out later to test it -- that's a really big help! I still wonder what that hot loose pk/bk wire does. Again Thanks!
