wanting to paint my whole grill assembly, including the insert black. Need suggestions on process and what kind of paint to use, basically just a temporary fix until I can get the grill assembly that I want. Any helpful suggestions welcomed! Thanx in advance! Btw, 99 expo xlt (if that matters)

hey i actually just painted my grill insert 6 days ago, and it took maybe 4 hours tops mostly for paint. but you just remove the black plastic piece that covers the radiator, that shows you where some of the chrome grill bolts are, then you have to remove the headlights and turn signal/running lights, then there are two bolts on each side, and then there are two plastic pieces that are attached by 4 or 5 black plastic clips at the bottom under where the lights are...then you'll see there are several little clips that attach the grill insert....but i just cleaned the grill insert really good, then taped off the ford emblem, and then painted a black primer on it, after i let that dry i found a cheap black metallic spay paint and and gave it a good coat, you could just paint right over the silver but the paint will seem a little more gray than black, so that's why i painted a black primer first......ill try to post a pic tomorrow so you can see it...that is if you haven't already done it your self....but i think i looks awesome blacked out....
