Been here 12 years. VA Tech is a great place to work. If you like the outdoors, fishing, kayaking, biking, hiking, etc. then this is for you. Big city amenities? Not so much.

Luckily, I like the outdoors and can always hop on a plane or drive to a big city.

Have you checked out the fuel pump driver module? On my 05, it was on the frame, in the left wheel well? Seems to me, my 05 Expy had and experience where it would crank but not fire. I pulled this unit off and lo and behold, that was it. Seems that all the road junk gets trapped under it and it corrodes away at the housing and shorts it out. Its about a $80 part at the time. Think I've seen them cheaper on partgeeks, or usauto parts. Hope this helps.

FYI THE OP's 2003 does not have a Fuel Pump Drivers Module

the FPDM was ONLY on the 05/06 model years

I had similar issues, turned out to be the ignition lock cylinder. They do wear out and the tumbler internals don't fully engage. If all else fails do make sure and check on that.

I know it is a week later, but I have to comment.

The title says "no crank", but the first thing the OP says is "it turns over but doesn't start". Okay, not everyone is a techno weenie like myself, but gee wiz people, every one needs to use the same terminology when requesting help !

If you turn the key and nothing happens, that is a "NO CRANK".

If you turn the key and the starter engages and spins the engine but it does not start, that is a "CRANK, NO START"

The term "TURNS OVER" means that the starter is engaging and spinning the engine.

I solved a "crank, no start" problem for my niece (who lives over 1500 mile away) on the phone in less than 2 minutes, once we had common terminology. Sadly, she had already spent close to $1000 to NOT get it repaired properly.

Learning how to talk to a mechanic/service writer needs to be taught in Drivers Education classes.
