Im wondering if this can be done on my 2007 expy??? if so, how?

Since your intake has so many silencers on it (extra boxes coming off of the intake tube) I would just replace it with a K&N or similar CAI. There probably is a silencer piece inside of your intake, but I doubt it will change much pulling that out with all of the other silencers in place.

I have a question on this mod. Wouldn't it be easier to make this mod from a piece of pipe like PVC with a 90* elbow?

I don't know if its any easier since you still have to get it to fit and seal right. Not to mention match the rest of the parts and not look cobbled together. It certainly is an option though, that's all a CAI consists of is a pre-fitted plastic tube with the necessary holes and cut-outs.

I was curious since I plan on doing the Gotts mod and this. I hate to say it but I am cheap.

Just a note about the Gotts mod, if you use thin wall PVC, you don't have to shave anything. It will flex right into the hole. Take as long as you need to disconnect the air box, abd replace little silencer with big pipe.
