Ignition Coil #6

Just found out the 2001 i bought has to have the ignition coil changed on #6, no big deal seems to be very common. The problem is the bolt is stripped and a retro fit was put in and its stripped. I think i need tp take it o my dealer. any suggestions?

Without seeing it, I can't really help.

Is the drive head stripped, or the internal threads?

Maybe post a picture?


A stripped bolt isn't really a dealer thing. You can probably just go to a cheaper garage.

Any decent mechanice witha tap and die set can easily do this in about 20mins. All they need to do is drill out the stripped bolt (if they cant get it loose first) then CLEAN all the shavings from the bolt that it left behind. Also chances are if the coil burst into the cylinder they will need to clean that as well.
