Can anyone tell me whats the best way is to clean the intake manifold on my 2007 expedition. I took it off to replace the IMCR actuator and when I got the intake off I noticed the previous owner used silicone with the gaskets and they used a lot. I want to try to clean it and not have to buy a new one

Oh crap! I did that to my old Chrysler Outboard boat engine as the gasket was no longer available as chrysler closed their boat engine devision long before that. When I finished rebuilding it and took it to a dealer for the final tune that required a Chrysler proprietary tool, they found I had used too much silcone and redid it for me. But I can't say how they cleaned it. After that I said I'll never rebuild a boat engine again. After having it bored, getting oversized pistons and rings, and dealing with roller bearings that I didn't expect, I had $1200 in it doing all I could myself. That's what I had paid for the whole boat/engine!
