I can't find the key for the car anywhere (I only have 1 key)

Is it possible to lock the key inside of the car? If I left it inside the truck, is it possible the car locked itself?

The key for the XLT is a "regular" "remote entry" type key with push buttons. It's not a radio fob like the ones on trucks that have push-button ignition. So, yeah, I would imagine you could lock it with the key inside. Hope you know the keypad code. If not, you might be able to obtain it from a dealer if you give them your VIN number. After that, be sure to program your own personal code so this doesn't happen again.

The truck doesn't like to be locked with the key in the ignition switch and will unlock immediately -- as if the ding ding ding didn't warn you. :) So if it's in the truck it isn't in the ignition unless locked from the outside keypad (despite the ding ding ding). Can be unlocked the same way. I really appreciate the keypad and am slightly annoyed none of my non-Ford cars have one.

A locksmith, local PD, or AAA can unlock the door for your search. Next step is to program the keypad and then have a 2d (or 3d) key made. You'll need dealer assistance for the 2d key programming.
