Is there a 'hidden' telescope steering on an 07?

Some years of newer Explorers and Mountaineers have a 'hidden' telescoping steering column. Take out the block then mill the sides off which block it from sliding in-out, reinstall. Then you just need to install the release lever. Telescoping steering for 'free' that otherwise would've cost extra and/or required buying some option package.

Is there something like that on the 3rd gen Expeditions? Would be a sweet addon to my very base model EL.

What year range Explorer are you referring to?

Some (but evidently not all?) 07-17 Navigators have a power telescoping steering column. There is a 4-way up/down/in/out controller directly below the turn signal stalk.

Example 1 & 2, with. I believe these are 15+:

Example B, without 4 way, appears to just be power up/down. I belive this to be a 07-14:

If I had to guess, I'd say the telescoping feature was in conjunction with electric steering.
