Key Stuck in Ignition

Hey guys
So went to turn off the Expy and the key won't come out, any ideas how to fix the problem?
How hard is it to replace the ignition cylinder? Whats involved?
Pissed at the Expy right now, want to sell it!!!!

are you sure your front wheels are not turned causing pressure on the steering wheel lock function...moving your steering wheel back and forth and see if the key comes out while you do that....

i had this problem before mine did it a few times but it stopped doing it one day like it fixed its self lol something to do with the interlock seems to be a common issue ive also read that ford has crappy key cylinders i would say see if it keeps doing it try what they did in the link just move from P to N and back again or a few times lol worked for me when mine did it.

my friends step dad had this problem. ended up having to take it in and have the whole steering column taken out and to replace a little pin that fell out. hope its nots that problem.

I've tried the P then N thing ,nothing now its ******* rain fun for me!!! F***ing thing , time to buy something new !!!
If I have to take it to Ford it's going to be sold!!
I can't belive , what I read about drilling it out and taking the sterring wheel off!!! More work then it should be .. I liked my 78F150 just stick a pin in above the key and out it comes!!

yea the new ones are a b#$* the use bolts that the heads snap off and leave you having to drill em out. sux its raining on you while having problems. is the key suround thing lose idk the name of it but my wifes grandfathers 95 f-350 its lose and has to be just right for the key to come out cheek ebay for new parts to rebuild it yourself or google. i wish i was at my truck cause most of mine is apart there and i could look and see if you can bypass it im sure it can be done just not sure on the details i did it on my old 93 integra did away with the steering lock and all that crap i didnt need. could always do away with it and do a push button start.

did you try spraying a little wd-40 and then a little tap with a little hammer....notice the emphasis on "Little"....

After ripping out the ignition cylinder , found that wasn`t the problem but the plastic engaging pins from the shifter where sticking and I think worn out , white grease and it`s working for now!!!
