That looks good. I am going to take mine on the beach a lot so I would like to go with a 33x12.50. Does anyone know if i can squeeze that on our 17" wheel and make it work with a wheel spacer and no lift?

If it's a stock 17 then the tire would technically be wider than allowed. So you'd have to go aftermarket which would push the tire our anyways. Both the tire width and the decrease in backspacing from aftermarket wheels will mean it will probably rub badly without a torsion bar crank.

I've got 285/75R16 on mine, and like others have said, I too had to trim the front bumper just a bit. You dont even notice it. I did not need any wheel spacers, but I put some on for the added stability on sand dunes. I take Ol' Blue Thunder in the air almost every weekend and have had no problems. I used a 1 1/2 inch spacer which gave me 3 more inches to my wheel base, not counting the wider tires that are on now. Plus it gives it an aggressive look. I also am using stock rims. When using stock rims with mud tires they made the truck look like it was on stilts. I have not yet experienced any abnormal wear on any of my suspension parts, and like I said, I put it through some abuse.

oops, that middle pic was before the spacers. if you look close, without spacers, puts the tire inside the step rails, with spacers it puts the tires flush with the steps. Also, the tires are MT not AT

I was wondering this too. I just bought a 97 XLT, it has 265/70R 17's and it seems to have a bit of room to go bigger. Also, what tire brands does everyone prefer? Thanks.

mine are 285/75/R17 Cooper Discoverer's..got baja champ rims, 17x8 .runs fine smooth silent tire. i want 1 size bigger maybe next time. wider for sure. i think height is 33in. i remember couldnt get anything much higher in 17in. dia......bigger tires do wear front ends out earlier, especially if your all stock. next size then what i have should be limit cause then youll get that bubble tire feel. i dont like to loose the handling....

Torsion key turned all the way up, 305/70/17. Only had to remove the mud flaps. No other rubbing.
