Be smart. Rule out the cheap stuff first. Fuel pressure check, maybe replace filter. Smoke check to rule out all the cheap vacuum leak possibilities sitting on top of the engine.
Why would you think about replacing cats and stuff before you rule out a two dollar vac hose??????????
