On the F-150 forum I’ve seen it to where they just swapped out the LEDs for 2017 ones and they got the different colors to work

Correct, you can swap the light modules(A little more than just an LED) out to the 2019/2018 part numbers. Mine at least has the controller for doing the color changes, but at some point based on my research the 150's changed over to a controller that can't change. So if they do that in the Expy you would need to swap that too. Just not worth it for me...does slightly bother me though.

Originally we thought it might be software related. Confirmed pretty quick that was not the case.

My 14 Flex had different colors to choose from. Kinda cheap of Ford to remove this option.

You have to replace all of the LED modules, and then make the edits to coding using FORSCAN to match the Platinums.
