Is there a workaround on updating navigation maps? Rather than buying from Ford....

Not if you have a Sync3, from what I understand.

buy a cheap GPS or use a smart phone. I have friends who bought vehicles with factory nav systems and it was little pricey when they need to update. They are using their smart phone now.

What do you mean, “worked?”

Did a system update reject the new maps? Or was the bootleg burn just bad data?
