Just out of curiosity, would the 5.4 from my 2005 expedition be a direct replacement for a 5.4 in a 2004 f150?

My expedition is needing a lot more things done then I care to do and I came across a 2004 f150 needing a motor. A pickup would serve me a lot better than an sub at this time.

What other items work from one vehicle to another?

Depends on if the 2005 motor is a 3 valve or 2 valve. Your 2004 is a 2v. 3v will not be direct replacement & your 2v computer will not work with the 3v.

Your 2005 is a 3V, and so is the 2004 F150. It seems possible there would be small differences because they would be different years and from different vehicles, but from what I have seen and heard they are the same engine. So your motor swapping scheme should work. Would be a fun project if you have the time. Post some updates on here if you do it, I think a lot of people would be interested.
