I bought my 98 expo xlt 5.4l 4x4 in Feb of this year. $2500. I have so far stuck about $1000 into it. No complaints! Bought it from a good friends uncle. I love my truck! I also love my music loud!

Well enough of that already!

All 4 stock speakers had blown out surrounds. So I got these all for $50!

You should get battery box's from Summit racing or similar. The batteries produce gases that should be vented outside not to mention securing them to the vehicle.

So I see your performing subtle sound system mods! lol Cool project. Don't forget to beef up the suspension to handle those subs. :) Wouldnt hurt to get spare hatch while your at it so you have it on hand !!

These are sealed agm batteries idk how they would produce gases? And no there not secured, but where they are sitting was such a tight fit they don't move at all. But I am building another box so I will be redoing my battery mounting situation.

Suspension is rock solid. Has brand new rear struts and box is not much heavier than the 3rd row seat.

The back hatch.. only concern with that is just the glass.. I deadened the rear hatch roof and doors after that video. I have to wait to get my amp replaced before I see how much improvement there is.

If anyone needs any help with doing the audio stuff I am more than happy to help out.

1st I have heard of AGM batteries. They do produce hydrogen gas as other lead acid batteries but it is absorbed by the absortive glass mat!?! Whatever that is so yes they can be mounted inside the vehicle. I learned something new today! :) As far as securing them its more so they dont become lethal projectiles if involved in an accident. Of course thats your call.

I was kidding about the suspension and the hatch and was thinking of the glass when I made the comment.

Thanks walnut! A few buddies that compete told me im probably almost at 150 decibels. Waiting for my amp to come back than ill get it metered.

Yeah. I do drive with my kids in my truck so i have thought about that. They do not move but if a roll over were to occure they very well could. And these are heavy bats. When i build my new box im redoing my battery rack so there secured with something.

As for the back glass... Thats my only concern! Lol my cell phone isnt great for videos. Ive got it to flex out on bottom corners about an inch already.. a buddy told me what to do to help reduce it. Just gotta wait til payday. :)
