Well I went out this morning to put a sd card in my trail camera to see what animals were still active after our 6 inches of snow from last night. Never really driven in the snow so cut me a little slack. My trail camera is on a hill and I drove horizontally about half way up the hill. Then came the sliding.........all the way until some large aspens caught me at the bottom. Spent about 40 minutes shoving wood under the wheels but couldn't get enough traction to get on them. So I tried some wooden pallets....no luck. I couldn't rock my truck back and forth because of the aspens I was hung up on. At this point I had about 15 minutes to get to work. I threw all the wood out of the way, put it in reverse and hit the gas. Broke a few trees but at least now I could rock it instead of just spinning the wheels. Dropped her in 4 low, 1st gear and hit the gas. I couldn't crawl out because I would instantly break traction. So I decided to muscle her out and crank the wheels from left to right repeatedly. Finally ended up finding some traction and drove her out sideways....yes sideways. Bottom line is... Our expeditions will get out of anything with a little tire spinning, engine roaring and a slightly stupid driver.
The video is from the last little stretch of slippery trail, once I had gotten past the tough stuff.
