You need an unaltered "admin" key to make any MyKey changes. (It's all in the owner's manual.) I don't see a Forscan setting for it (but not all settings have been documented) so it's probably going to be a Ford dealer change.

Just curious: where's the other key? The original owner keeping it for some reason?

Do you really need to go above 80? I've had my first edition for 4 years, and I think i hit 80 once. 80 is pretty fast on these 6,000 pound tanks.

Bought it used and only comes with spare key. Dealer doesn’t know where the key is.

No sir I don’t. I just need my volume limit remove. I love to cruise to 70mph.

Head right on back to the dealer and don’t walk out till they hand you a brand new key programmed and ready to go free of charge. Plus there is somebody walking around with a Key that will unlock and start your car. They should reset the PATS system and program it fresh with both keys and leave them both as admin for now.

This is a no brainer. Dealer messed up and there job to fix it!

Chuck, went through same deal with Ford. I said to parts guy, if I've got 2 working keys, why would I need a third? Dumb! that's when I went to the Ace hardware. They had a sign out front, that said we make chip keys. $75.00 later, I had a working second key. Like I told Stamp, still works 2 years later. I still would like to know how Ace can pull off what the others can't!

dealer probably has the admin key locked up, in case you default, they can pick the car up easier.
but i would demand they proved the admin key are perform the reset and give you a new admin key. otherwise your volume will stay low
sounds like it was a rental fleet vehicle

Just for clarity the Push to Start Keys are different than the standard PATS keys with a blade that actually turn the ignition.

The standard PATS keys can be “scanned” and cloned. That is what ACE does. The issue is that the car sees them as the same key, not 2 different keys.

The vehicles with Push to start the car has to be “paired” with the key. Cloning would not work in this case.

I just follow traffic on the way to work and home. 80 MPH is pretty much normal or you'll get run over.

Wow, I thought they drove nutso in the bay area. I move over from the fast lane when a bimmer or Lexus comes up my rear. Even then I'm only doing 70 or so. Man when did I get old! I used to ride 145 mph motorcycles a few years back.

Interstate traffic cruises near 80 mph everywhere I've been and the ability to exceed that speed on occasion lets me get out of traffic. Back roads the higher speed is essential for safe passing. My Garmin GPS units record the highest speed until reset -- which I do frequently! Instantaneous and momentary speeds are well above 80.

According to my build sheet my truck is limited to 106mph but I've never tested it.
