Hi all. New to forum. Owned ford suv's since 1986.

2006 expedition currently.

I began some rust repair this weekend.
1st step was to cut out TOTALLY rusted rocker panels and am starting to weld in the new replacement rockers.

While I was underneath I decided to take a look around. a lot needs fixing but 1 thing in particular I want to address.

Underneath and at the rear of the truck, forward of the rear end, attached to the rear end is a quite heavy duty bar/plate.
Its about 3/4 of an inch thick (hollow) maybe 8 inches tall and maybe 12 inches long. 4 bolts connect it to the rear end. 1 bolt and rubber bushing connecting it to the frame/body so it can pivot as the rear end bounces/moves while driving. This is rusted to hell. Id like to get a new one but Ive no idea what its called.

Been to parts diagrams, nothing. tried every search phrase I can think of. Nothing.

Does Anyone know what in the world this part is called or what it does or any suggestions. I can take a pic later but its raining at the moment. of course.

In case anyone happens to know what this is.... is it hard to pull out? It looks quite simple but that doesn't mean that it is.

If it is behind the differential it is either the anti-sway/roll bar OR the track link (keeps the differential from moving left or right)

MIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOUDAMAN.

Yes that's it.
Thank you brother.

Im not sure why I cant find that on any diagram I pulled up. But nevertheless...
Called Ford dealer, he didnt know over the phone. Called my mechanic, he insisted it was the trailing arm. I insisted it wasn't. Thanks man.
Yeah I will get the bolts too.

I have loved all my Ford SUV's... this one is by FAR the rustiest. Im keeping it though. I'll just keep repairing and preventing rust wherever I can.
