Hello,

I am from Chicago, Illinois. Just bought a new-old Expedition ( I will list the details below). Seeing as how I always primarily used cars before, this thing opens up a whole new world of mysteries!

Some info:

1999 Expedition XLT 5.4

I am simply in love with it. How ever I do have some questions, hopefully I can get some help with!

In the owners manual it lists different vehicle weights and towing weights for different packages based on engine size, axle ratio and tire size. Very helpful table, except my exact truck is not listed in it...

According to the original sales sticker, the info follows:

5.4L EFI V8 (although XLT Standard was 4.6L)
17" Wheels (standard being 16")
3.55 Ratio limited slip axle

The table in the manual only lists 5.4 engines with 3.31 and 3.73 axle. Also the only 17" wheel + 5.4L has a 3.73 axle.

I just want to know my Max GCWR and trailer weight!

Thanks for any help!

I look forward to being here! I do plan to visit daily!

The following information was copied from the 2000 owners manual

5.4L 3.55 40.6 cm
(16 in) 5 897 kg (13 000 lbs.) 0-3 357 kg
(0-7 400 lbs.)
5.4L 3.55 43.2 cm
(17 in) 5 760 kg (12 500 lbs.) 0-3 130 kg
(0-6 900 lbs.)

If you would care to look at the full specs for the 2000 model you can go to

owner.ford.com

and download copies of other model years

reason it wasn't in your 99 owners manual is because that gear ratio wasn't available for that year
