I just picked up a 99 4x4 EB Expedition 5.4L and I just had a few questions about it. The steering is very very sensitive, especially at freeway speeds. If I hit any bump on the road it pulls me around. I just put new Rancho 5000 shocks, new tires, balanced, alignment and checked all of the ball joints and it is still doing it (not as bad). Is this normal or is there something else I need to check?

if you have the air susp. then make sure the switch is turned on, because the steering is integrated with the air suspension. if you have a standard suspension then its a special valve. im sure others will elaborate. buts its normal you get used to it

The shocks that you have are pretty stiff. Any bumps will be transmitted back to you. It may settle down some as the shocks wear in. You can also drop air pressure in your tires a touch to help.

Check your sway bars, end links and bushings if you have not already.

Steering stabilizer does help some, especially with bigger tires.

Keep us posted! :)

Yea I noticed a big difference with the shocks!
I have only had this expy for a week and plan on taking it on a road trip the end of this month, is there anything that I should check besides the usual (oil, trans fluid, ect.). I have no Idea what the previous owner replaced or fixed, is there anything that I can expect to go out. There is 93K miles on it. I am just looking for some preventative maintenance so I don't run into any problems on my trip.

From what Ive read on here, you can install upgraded sway bars and it will dramatically help the drive.
