I don't think that the indicator tells you anything but what the position of the engagement fork is doing in the transfer case...... I put money on the hubs not getting the vacuum signal or lack thereof. Mine disengage when there is vacuum so that in a no vacuum situation (wot) the hubs would remained locked. Some trucks are reversed and I don't know which ones they are.......
