I am looking to get the Ford remote start installed. I need to retain my hatch open ability from the remote.

19G364 is the part number for the Ford piece. I like it because it keeps the liftglass and hatch as separate buttons on the remote. (new 6 button)

I am open to other ideas however.

A local Ford Dealer wants $600 for this installed.
I am not sure though, if I look for it on eBay what parts I need fully.
I may need the kit plus a PATS kit?

1) Does the price sound reasonable?
2) Any alternatives that people like for this application?

You can do that with just about any remote start or remote/security combo. It just has to be wired up and programed into the unit. You are fortunate enough to have a newer expo. With the Xpresskit DBALL you can by pass the security pretty easy. Then used just about any Clifford/Viper system you want. Ideally anything with a 3 button remote would work great.

$600 is a bit hefty but just about right from ford though. I have dont systems similar to yours for in and around that price but thats fully loaded extras (windows up/down, rear defrost, seat heater timer, rear hatch, bypass, etc.) and more than half of the cost was the hardware alone.

oblivion is correct...there are devices that has everything you named as option or at least buy the accessory to make it happen...

there is a thread on here...i used to have the part number for the OEM remote start...it didnt start the way yours does...and i was quoted $500 parts and install here in VA...do a keyword search on "gold" to see if it comes up...thats the one you want...i think it started 7L or or 1L or 1Z...i just through the part number away last month as i have viper 5704...wich has an option for trunk release and accessory option to roll up/down all windows by remote

Freeway your correct, the 5904 is a pretty bad a$$ little unit. that remote start/security line from viper will all do Trunk release. Right down to the 5104, which usually retails for around $300 less than the 5904.

my ford dealer installed a 2-way avital that had awesome range and tailgate lift but no seat controls. unfortunately after 2 months they still could not figure out how to bypass the factory alarm (it ws $500 installed) so they yanked it and put the one way remote start only and programmed it in to my key fob (gave me $200 back). unfortunately the range sux - so I hate it. itwill barely work from 15 feet away. I priced out the 2-way viper this weekend (not with the lcd display, because I want a smaller key fob) and the car stereo shop said $300 installed and will do tailgate and have security. But I read up on the key fobs and everyone says they are fragile and eat batteries. I wish I had gone with the Ford one, but the dealer told me not to. I will have to see what I am going to do - but I will say stay away from the lower model avital - even though it all progarms right in to the key. Hope it helps and i'm interested to see waht route you go.

The 2-way LCD for my viper 5704 is rechargeable like you charge your cell phone...plug in to port and plug into wall...the 1-way is not rechargeable but I don't use it anyway...range is good enough for me...top 5 mod I've done

So I visited my only Big Box :) retail electronics chain.
I looked at the Viper alarm. $499, installation included.
Well, it turns out that with the addition of the $100 bypass, and to add the glass and hatch, ($20 each), we were at about $700.
No way... too expensive.

A smaller electronics store quoted me just under $300 for an Audiovox system that included all the bypasses and aux channels installed.
I am hesitant on the brand though. I know they used to be lower quality stuff.

I am still looking around because I don't have an solutions that I feel good about yet.
