oil change

im getting ready to do an oil change on my 05 5.4 with phaser noise is there any oils I should stay away from and what kind of filter, I normally use mobile 1 synthetic.

I use mobil 1 extended performance 5w20. I'm also using the motorcraft fl820s filter but I want to switch! For some reason none of my filter wrenches fit it, it's in a hard spot and I need some advice on a good filter that a cap style wrench will fit properly. The strap kind doesn't work for me because of the location and the metal vice grip kind just tears it up.
